Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and author who won several awards. Her films include Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). The desire to become an artist was in part influenced from her childhood as a member of a New York family of artists. After working as an assistant to photographers, she turned her attention towards modeling and acting. She was noticed in her first two movies and won the Golden Globe Award for Most Popular Newcomer. MacGraw's Love Story from 1970 was one of the biggest hits that gained her fame worldwide, as well as an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award. In just three years, she had been voted as the most popular female box-office participant in the entire world. In 1972, her footprints and autograph were inscribed on the wall at Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition to The Getaway Convoy Players she played a part in the tv miniseries The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw married three people.
